Shayna

      Shayna’s life is all about pets! She has a love of anything furry or scaly. Her avid love for cats has earned her the nickname “The crazy cat lady” by her family & friends. 

She has 2 cats that “own” her: “Baby” & Abby” whom are very spoiled. Her furry babies are her only children & she treats them as such, spending her down time, playing with her kitty "Baby" on the floor with a variety of kitty toys, or brushing, fuzzing & loving these two fortunate felines. 

      Shayna grew up in the San Fernando Valley, with not only 5 brothers & sisters, but a home filled with numerous cats, dogs, rabbits, reptiles, snakes, parrots, lizards, rabbits, turtles, fish & the occasional barn animal to give plenty of love to. It wasn’t uncommon for her cats to have litters of kittens in her bedroom closet, & Shayna was always first on scene to assist the momma cat with the birthing process.  As the kittens grew she would insist on finding them happy “Furever” homes. Shayna would bring all kinds of creatures home & spend hours educating her siblings on their unique & beautiful qualities as well as the special care they required. 

It was in the mid 1980’s that Shayna took advantage of her love & experience with animals to persue her calling. Her career began at a small fish shop, & then expanded into working at multiple aquarium stores in the valley learning all about fresh & saltwater fish. Shayna then was drawn to reptiles & amphibians, escalating her career into local specialty pet shops working with a variety of snakes, lizards, frogs, salamanders, tarantulas, scorpions, rats, mice, hamsters and guinea Pigs. Some of her past clients have been a tortoise, a pot belly pig & several types of parrots. 

Her favorite reptiles are Basilisks, Water Dragons & the Prehensile-tailed skink. 

We are very lucky to have Shayna & all of her knowledge of exotics & passion for animals of all kinds. 

Shayna can give injections & medication for cats & dogs & has pet first aid & CPR training. 

Whenever her human family is away from home, Shayna is always the first one called upon to care for their pets. The animals love that she gives lots of cuddles, attention & playtime & our client’s pets love her too!
